Namaste! and thank you for your email of 14th March. I am sorry that I have been unable to reply before now, but following your evacuation of Lucy Scott, from Thorung Phedi to Kathmandu last Saturday, I have been busy each day keeping her company, showing her the 'real' Kathmandu, and accompanying her on the several appointments she had to attend at CIWEC. All this has meant that I have not been in my office during the hours when we had power, until today!

However, I am at last able to tell you, on behalf of ACCESS-HIMALAYA Adventure Travel, that I am extremely satisfied with the rescue services so far provided by your company, Mountain Helicopters Pvt Ltd. On each occasion, our clients, the evacuees, mentioned how secure and confident they felt regarding their rescue, and we thank you for that, on their behalf.

As you may imagine, when accidents occur during a trek, the injured persons are very unsure of what will happen to them, and your efficient and caring manner in helping them into the helicopter, and making them feel comfortable and confident, is of the utmost importance not also to them, but also to us, as their holiday providers. The combination of professionalism and friendliness, such as you offer, is much appreciated. In addition, the presence of an ambulance, waiting near the helipad, is another important part of the rescue. All in all you are offering a service par excellence – exactly what we require.

I also greatly appreciated the effective manner in which contact was made with the insurance company of one evacuee, in order to guarantee payment of your bill as part of her insurance claim. Knowledge that such a claim will be honored is of great assurance to an injured person.

Although I have no wish that any further trekking clients may require helicopter rescue, nonetheless I look forward to seeing you all again and possibly accompanying yet another trip in your distinctive yellow and blue 'whirlybird'!
